Thresa Giles is the Chief Executive Officer of Hope & Help, a Central Florida nonprofit dedicated to ending the HIV and STI epidemic through health services, prevention, education, and community outreach. She stepped into that role in May 2025, having most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Stand for Children, a national education nonprofit operating across seven states. She brings more than 30 years of leadership across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, with deep experience in finance, business operations, procurement, regulatory compliance, technology, grants administration, and the management of complex investment portfolios.
Thresa holds an MBA in Statistical Management and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and is completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. Her recognitions include the Wharton Business School CFO Fellows Award, the Jacksonville Women of Influence Award, the Ultimate CFO Award, and the State of Delaware Outstanding Leader Award. She is drawn to AFS-USA’s commitment to fostering global understanding and cultural exchange, and brings expertise in board dynamics, ethical leadership, and mission-driven growth.
