David Lewis is Chief Investment Officer of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he oversees $5 billion of endowment and retirement investments supporting one of the nation’s leading pediatric
academic medical centers.

Prior to joining Lurie Children’s, David held roles at PNC Capital Advisors, PNC Institutional Asset Management, and The Ohio State University. He has advised healthcare systems, foundations, universities, nonprofit organizations, and government entities on investment strategy, governance, and stewardship of long-term capital.

David is recognized for aligning investment strategy with institutional mission, strengthening governance frameworks, and guiding organizations through periods of growth, complexity, and change. His broader leadership includes service on multiple industry advisory boards and evaluation work for major global philanthropic initiatives where he assesses organizations advancing health, education, and youth.

David holds a Master of Business Administration, Phi Kappa Phi, from University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Ohio University.

A longtime AFS volunteer, David has served as a liaison supporting international exchange participants and host families and as an NSLI-Y interviewer. He is committed to AFS-USA’s mission of advancing intercultural understanding and global citizenship.
