Lingco Scholarship

AFS-USA has partnered with Lingco, an organization whose mission is for every student to see the value in language learning and to believe that they too can learn a language. Lingco has generously decided to offer six full scholarships to one of four selected AFS-USA summer programs in 2026.

Scholarship Award: Based on a combination of merit and financial need

Applicable Programs: Lingco is offering six full scholarships to one of four selected AFS-USA summer programs in 2026

Application Process:

• Nominations by a language teacher are accepted on a rolling basis and due by January 6, 2026
• Student video submissions and parental permission to apply are accepted on a rolling basis by due by January 16, 2026
• Full AFS study abroad application for the first-choice program from semi-finalists should be completed by March 1, 2026
• All nominations and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis

Eligibility Requirements:

• Lingco is looking for applicants who possess the Qualities of an AFSer: Open-Mindedness, Curiosity, Adaptability, Resiliency, and Compassion
• Students need to be their authentic selves
• Currently enrolled in a Level 2 language class or higher
• Minimum age of 15 years old. The maximum age varies. See specific program age requirements below

France Summer Language Camp $8,875 Four weeks Language classes included Must be between the ages of 15 and 16 years 11 months at the program start date

Spain Summer Language Camp $8,650 Four weeks Language classes included Must be between the ages of 15 and 17 years 11 months at the program start date

Argentina Summer High School $7,950 Eight weeks No specific language instruction, high school immersion in Spanish, homestay Must be between the ages of 15 and 18 at the program start date

Costa Rica Summer High School $6,500 Seven weeks Language classes, high school immersion, homestay, and one week bus tour Must be between the ages of 15 and 17 years 6 months at the program start date
