Dulce de leche was everywhere in Argentina! My host family always had it at home. It is a very popular ice cream flavor, and is common to eat any time.


  • Sweetened condensed milk


  • With a 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk – Remove wrapper. Set in a pot that has enough water to cover the can (or almost cover). Set can in the water. Simmer (uncovered) the unopened can for 3 hours. Cool and open the can.

Can be eaten with anything. Most often eaten in Argentina with crackers, toast, fruit or ice cream.
