Executive Vice President, Compliance & Government Relations

Keri Dooley has over 25 years of experience in the field of international education and exchange. An alumna of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), she went on to direct ECA sponsored programs at AFS-USA, a leading, nonprofit international education provider. In her current role as AFS-USA’s Executive Vice President, Compliance & Government Relations, she manages relations with the ECA pertaining to its oversight of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program and its sponsorship of invaluable exchange initiatives, including: Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES); Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX); National Strategic Language Initiative for Youth (NSLIY); and Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX).

She also leads Risk Management, Compliance, and Quality Assurance initiatives at AFS-USA, and she has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach in Asia, helping to establish an AFS Partner Organization in India, developing AFS-USA’s first year-long programs to China, and launching the YES Program in numerous AFS Network countries. Keri holds a B.S.F.S. in Comparative Regional Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and is proficient in German and Russian. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) and the Alliance for International Exchange. Originally from Sparks, NV, Keri lives in New York City with her husband Jim, and three daughters.
