Dr. Marcus Campbell has served as superintendent of Evanston Township High School (ETHS) in Illinois, District 202 since July 2022. Campbell was previously the assistant superintendent/principal at ETHS, where he was responsible for providing leadership in developing district strategy and organizational change, including effective instruction practices and responsive programs and services.
Marcus provided administrative leadership to further the Board’s mission while overseeing the implementation of the district’s numerous programs, training efforts, and initiatives to help improve the school experience for all students.
His goal is to effectively engage students, staff, parents, the board, and community members, clearly articulate the goals and priorities of the district and superintendent and build support for the district’s mission while increasing pride and trust in the school. Campbell earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the National College of Education, National Louis University.
Marcus Campbell holds a master’s in social and cultural foundations in education from DePaul University and a bachelor’s from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a major in English and a minor in African American Studies.
