Celebrating Educators and Schools Advancing Global Learning

AFS-USA believes that creating global citizens is a shared responsibility. Educators and schools play an essential role in helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and perspectives they need to engage across cultures and contribute to a more just and peaceful world.

The AFS-USA Global Awards recognize educators and schools that are making global competence, intercultural learning, and cultural awareness part of everyday learning and school life.

Each award celebrates a different kind of impact: the Global Educator Award honors an individual educator, while the Global School Award recognizes a school or school district. Together, the awards highlight inspiring approaches to global education and showcase the people and communities helping students become globally engaged citizens.

Celebrating Educators Who Create Global Citizens

The AFS-USA Global Educator Award recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in integrating global competence and international perspectives into their instruction, activities, or school communities.

  • Fostering curiosity, empathy, communication, collaboration, and perspective-taking
