The Massachusetts Bay Area Team is a community of all ages who embody the AFS mission to work towards a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities.
To fulfill this mission our team of local volunteers supports our currently hosted international students and their host families and helps to send local students abroad as well. We encourage sharing and help facilitate conversations between students, families, and the community. We also help local students become globe-trotters themselves by studying abroad. To do this we work in the community to identify potential host families and share information about AFS with educators and students in middle and high school. Our territory includes eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
We invite you to get involved! If you live in our area and are interested in studying abroad, hosting an international student, volunteering with us, hearing a presentation about study abroad at your school or community group, or are an AFS returnee who wants to reconnect, please contact us for more information. You can do this by filling out an inquiry form on afsusa.org – we look forward to speaking with you!
