“August from Norway lived with our family from 2014-15 and attended Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California. Our year together was very full and a great learning experience for all of us.
This week, he is back to visit after 10 years. It’s wonderful to see him and his new wife Emma. This was their honeymoon trip! During our time together this summer, we laughed and cried (but mostly laughed) about all of the funny moments from our year. We are family forever!”
Like the Condon family, many people who choose to host an exchange student with AFS-USA forge bonds that last a lifetime. These relationships extend far beyond student and host – whether it’s extended family, friends, teachers, or other members of your community, your decision to host for a semester or a full academic year will impact lives for generations to come.
