Clara (16) from Spain - Clara appreciates and participates in the arts. Painting and drawing are passions and she has recently gotten into digital art. She loves the theater and performs in an amateur theater group. She plays violin and wants to continue during her stay abroad. She likes singing and playing the drums and piano. (Her mom is a professional flutist and music teacher.) Clara loves animals, considering her dog a member of the family. And she's been horseback riding since she was small. She enjoys all sorts of reading and is a film buff who would like to get into movie directing. She's a skilled cook too! Read more about Clara.

Giorgia (17) from Italy -
Giorgia is a vibrant and outgoing young lady from Italy who looks forward to immersing herself in American culture! Giorgia takes her studies very seriously and has chosen to study a science and math based program. She hopes to become a doctor. When she isn't studying, Georgia loves to stay active. She has been playing volleyball for seven years and enjoys the team aspect of it the most. Those who know her best describe her as positive, sweet, and highly sociable. Johannes (16) from Germany -
Johannes describes himself as easy-going, but shy around new people. He hopes that the exchange program will help him grow and challenge himself. Family is very important in his life. Johannes is very studious and enjoys studying mathematics, physics, and English. He hopes to pursue a degree in physics or engineering in the future. In his spare time, he likes to ride his bike, read books, play chess, and Parkour. Johannes also enjoys playing computer games online with his friends. Johannes hopes to improve his English skills in the U.S. and is looking forward to experiencing American culture! Read more about Johannes.

Leen (16) from Saudi Arabia -
Leen is an ambitious, poised and intelligent young lady. She is the president of the Student Government Club where she mentors her peers on how to develop their leadership skills. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing basketball and spending quality time with her family. Leen also offers her free time to volunteering at a local orphanage, where she brings gifts to the children. She values the relationships she shares with close friends. Passionate about helping those in need, Leen aspires to go to medical school and become a doctor. Read more about Leen.

Josefine (17) from Norway - One of the things Josefine loves most is gymnastics. She's practiced gymnastics competitively for years, and keeping active is very important to her. She plays sports and games with her friends and siblings, and is very close to her family. Playing sports challenges Josefine, and has taught her to be disciplined and cooperative. Her family would describe her kind, fair, and loyal, and she thinks of herself as sometimes reserved when not on the field. She can't wait to study with AFS so that she can learn all about a new culture and a new family, but also so she can get out of her comfort zone! Read more about Josefine.
