AFS Mission Statement
AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global volunteer partnership.

AFS International at a glance

• International exchange since 1946.
• More than 13,000 students, young adults and teachers each year.
• More than 90 AFS countries.
• Over 370,000 program alumni with an unforgettable experience.

The AFS Austin Area Team Currently Includes:

• 32 Registered Volunteers
• 11 Exchange Students and Their Host Families
• 1 Austin Student Currently Studying Abroad

The  AFS Austin community is a vibrant mix of returnees, host families, and volunteers who believe in the power of intercultural learning. Whether you have studied abroad or not, connecting with AFS locally allows you the opportunity to be a bridge between Austin and the wider world.

The local team covers a wide territory of Austin and the surrounding areas. The team supports Belton, Pflugerville, Round Rock, San Marcos, Temple, and Waco area.
