Since 2018, the Maine Global Explorers (MEGE) Committee has awarded $25,000+ in scholarship support to Maine youth who have directly undergone transformative intercultural learning experiences worldwide, gained a deep understanding of the AFS Effect, and advanced global citizenship.
Due to COVID-19, the MEGE Committee has shifted its funding priorities to virtual programming and classroom-based programs, including but not limited to the Global You Adventurer and GCC Teen programs during 2021-2022. Both programs include our research backed Global Cultural Competence Certificate, an achievement, and a testament of developed skills applicable in academic and work environments.
