You must mail the Residence Permit application and necessary documents to AFS USA and we will mail them to AFS Iceland.

The fee is $150.
Are there any other expected costs?
There are additional costs involved in obtaining, notarizing, legalizing, and mailing the required documents.

No, your program fee does not cover any of the costs related to obtaining, notarizing, legalizing, or mailing the required documents.
Can I travel before the start of my program?
Although you must be in your home community for the Pre-Departure Orientation, obtaining the Residence Permit will not place any limitations on your travel.
