By making a gift for scholarships, you strengthen AFS-USA’s commitment to educational equity and ensure that intercultural experiences are not just a luxury for a privileged few.

Restricted Scholarships

With a minimum contribution of $10,000, donors may choose to restrict a scholarship. Through restricting your scholarship, you can set specific criteria for how you want your gifts to be used. For example, you can provide scholarships for students from a geographic area, or provide scholarships for students who will be studying abroad in a specific program or country* just to name a few examples.

*Subject to programmatic needs.

Unrestricted Scholarships

AFS-USA’s highest priority – unrestricted scholarship gifts – help us focus on where the needs are greatest.  These contributions provide life-changing growth and perspective to promising and deserving U.S. high school students from communities across the country.

Faces of America Scholarship

Scholarships provided by our Faces of America program further extend our reach into inner city and rural communities, giving young people from underserved groups and lower income backgrounds the opportunity to see the world through a wider lens and become global citizens.
