Help deserving students say “Yes” to study abroad.

Did you know that 50 percent of AFS-USA students receive scholarships to participate in AFS programs? Here are several ways you can provide scholarship support and make study abroad accessible to even more students.

Restricted and Unrestricted Scholarships

Unrestricted Scholarships

When you give to our Unrestricted Scholarship Fund, you help provide scholarship dollars to students in programs that need funding the most.

Restricted Scholarships

With a minimum contribution of $10,000, donors may choose to restrict a scholarship. Through restricting your scholarship, you can set specific criteria for how you want your gifts to be used. For example, you can provide scholarships for students from a geographic area, or provide scholarships for students who will be studying abroad in a specific program or country* just to name a few examples.

*Subject to programmatic needs.

Faces of America Scholarship

AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing international education programs. Through our Faces of America Scholarship, we are able to award diverse, high-achieving students from low-income families the opportunity to study abroad. We work with community-based organizations (CBO) in underrepresented communities, to further our reach in communities, and to make study abroad accessible for all U.S. students.

Learn more about the scholarship and donate to Faces of America. You can also establish a named AFS-USA Faces of America Scholarship by contributing a minimum annual contribution of $10,000 in cash or stock each program year. Contact us to learn more about these giving opportunities.

Named AFS-USA Scholarships

Annual Named Scholarships

With an annual contribution of $5,000 or more, donors have the opportunity to establish a scholarship in their name, or in honor of a loved one. With an annual contribution of $10,000 or more annually, donors may name their scholarship and restrict their funds for a specific purpose. Learn more about Restricted Scholarships above.

Endowed Named Scholarships

An Endowed Scholarship creates a legacy in your name, or the name of a loved one, by providing study abroad opportunities in perpetuity.** With a minimum contribution of $100,000, you can permanently restrict your scholarship.

** Fifteen percent of each contribution to establish a restricted scholarship will be allocated to support AFS-USA.
