In loving memory of Julie Kraushaar Zurcher (1959-2022), American Field Service (AFS) exchange student from Connecticut, USA to SMA 3 School, Jogjakarta, Indonesia in 1977. Julie also hosted an AFS exchange student in Portola Valley, CA in 2011.
A memorial fund has been established at AFS-USA to honor Julie Kraushaar Zurcher and her lifelong multicultural friendships, support for intercultural understanding, and the language learning that her AFS exchange experience brought about.
Funds raised in Julie’s memory will be used to enable more global education experiences for:
1) lower income American young people through AFS-USA’s Faces of America Program, and
2) lower income, young people from non-Western, less developed countries in Africa, the Middle East, or Central/South/Southeast Asia.
