Don’t let the ball drop on these FIVE global opportunities. January is the time to nominate or register for multiple experiences in 10 minutes or less. Your students can study abroad next summer on full scholarships, you can engage with teachers from around the world both virtually and in-person with scholarships, and we can help you run your international club without extra effort! I hope you’ll say it’s worth it and explore these opportunities before the clock runs out!

AFS-USA and Lingco have teamed up to send six U.S. Spanish and French students to Costa Rica, France, Argentina, and Spain this summer on FULL scholarships. The length of each program and the age requirements differ for each country. Teachers must nominate students by January 15, 2025!
U.S. high school students interested in STEM and sustainability and who appreciate a hands-on and global approach to learning are a perfect fit for the AFS Global STEM Academies. They’ll join peers from around the world for 12 weeks virtually and then travel to Brazil, China, Egypt, or India for 4 weeks this summer on a full scholarship! Students must apply by January 15, 2025.
High school and middle school educators around the U.S. have until January 12, 2025 to sign up for the AFS Effect+ for the Classroom professional development experience with teachers from around the world. Boost your global competence skills, meet teachers from abroad, dive deeper into the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and earn a digital badge this spring!
Nominate yourself or a colleague for an immersive global experience at the AFS Youth Assembly in New York City in August 2025 on a nearly full scholarship. Eligible educators must be 32 years old or younger in August and be interested in or passionate about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and wanting to change the world through education! Nominations are due on February 28, 2025, but are encouraged early to allow nominees extra time to apply.
International Clubs are a great way to inspire students who are passionate about all things global: cultures, languages, diverse people, new foods, and so much more, and AFS wants to help you make your club the best it can be without adding to your plate! In 3 minutes or less you can let us know more about your club and how we can support you and you’ll be emailed with the AFS Intercultural Club Toolkit immediately afterward to help you effortlessly run 2-3 meetings a month.

Going global doesn’t have to consume all of your time. This week, you only need 10 minutes or less to set yourself and your students up for awesome experiences with the world! Let’s get the global work done together efficiently and effectively so you have time with your family and friends.

Happy New Year!
