To be eligible you must:Program Description
This 7 week program is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the lifestyle and culture of Ecuador. Enjoy your summer while living with a family in culturally diverse Ecuador. Explore the mountains and participate in community life by getting involved in sports and artistic endeavors. Participants in this program will be placed in and around Quito, the capital city of Ecuador.
You and your fellow AFSers will fly together between Miami and Quito. Upon your arrival, you will be met by volunteers and staff of AFS Ecuador and taken to the Arrival Orientation site. There you will take part in a orientation that will help prepare you for your intercultural experience.
All participants will be placed in Quito and reside with volunteer host families selected by AFS Ecuador. Your host family will provide room, board, and guidance to you during your stay.

A student visa is not required in order to participate in this program.
However, you must have a U.S. passport in order to travel internationally. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.
Getting There
You and your fellow AFSers will fly together from Miami to Quito. After you collect your baggage and pass through customs you will be met by AFS staff and volunteers and taken to an orientation site.
