The AFS Global Leaders Scholarship Program evaluates merit based on three categories: academics, community service, and leadership. You must show strength in each of these areas to qualify for an award. Merit is evaluated based on two forms:
• Self evaluation: this web based form includes several multiple choice and several free-response questions.
• Letter of recommendation: give this explanation to an educator who knows you well.
Your educator may submit this letter directly to AFS at the address on the bottom of the form, or return it to you for you to submit. This letter may also be used for your full AFS application.
