Global Leaders Scholarships

Scholarships: AFS strives to make experiences abroad accessible to all students regardless of their economic situations by offering need- and merit-based scholarships. Last year AFS awarded more than $1.2 million to high school students who wanted to study abroad. AFS Study Abroad Programs prepare students for living and working in an increasingly global society.

Group Programs for Students in 8th – 12th Grades

Be a group leader to Panama for the 2011 Panama 2 week Community Service program. If you or someone you know might be interested in recruiting and chaperoning 8-12 participants, your trip is free.

Programs for High School Grads

With a new focus of providing programs outside of the traditional 15-18 age range, AFS has exciting opportunities for High School grads and adults.

Full Scholarships for Students to Study Strategic Languages


Through NSLI-Y(National Security Language Initiative for Youth) students can apply to study abroad with full scholarships for intensive language acquisition in the following languages: Arabic, Turkish, Korean, Persian, Mandarin, Hindi, and Russian.
