The Basics:

Qualifications:

• All relatives of TRUMPF employees are eligible to apply
• Students must have the ability to maintain consistently good grades, must be mature enough to meet the challenges of living in another country as a responsible member of a family and community and must be in good health
• To qualify for the program, students must be between 16 and 18.5 by September 2009
• Students must have at least a 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be eligible

A Full Scholarship Includes:

• International and domestic travel between the U.S. and Germany
• Secondary medical coverage
• Assistance in obtaining visa and travel documents
• Placement with a carefully selected host family and school
• 24-hour emergency support and around-the-world communication
• Orientations before, during and after the exchange and participation in AFS activities
• Professional German language courses during stay

Not included in the scholarship:

• AFS pre-application fee of $75.00
• Passport fees
• Personal expenses involved in preparing for departure
• Spending money in Germany
