Host an AFS Participant in Your School

Hosting students provides U.S. high schools with unique and exciting opportunities in intercultural education. AFS places more than 2,600 outstanding exchange participants each year.

  • Students are eager to learn and to experience what it’s like to live in America as a member of a family, school, and community.
  • Students live with Host Families and are supported by local AFS Volunteers who work with students, their Host Parents, and high school administrators and teachers.
  • Schools may opt to participate in the AFS School Hosting Rep Program through which schools help AFS identify a volunteer liaison who works exclusively to support AFS activity with that school.
  • Schools that host students are recognized as community leaders in intercultural education and contribute to the cultural richness of their communities.
