Returnee Relations

With more than 115,000 AFS Returnees in the United States alone—more than 370,000 worldwide—they inherit a binding relationship to the AFS family by virtue of participation. Returnees truly embody the AFS legacy and help keep its tradition alive for future generations.

Be the Returnee Voice
AFS frequently offers online information sessions for interested students to learn more about AFS. Returnees attend these calls to provide first-hand insight into the AFS experience. If you’re interested in participating, let us know your availability and we’ll contact you shortly.

Act Now: 5 Things you can do Right Now as a Returnee
From joining the conversation on Facebook to becoming a guest Returnee panelist on our Online Info Sessions, here are 5 simple things you can do right now to spread the word about your experience. Your personal input is invaluable and will surely inspire others to study abroad.

Go Abroad Again and Save
Your AFS experience doesn’t have to remain in the past. Gap programs are an increasingly popular choice as students look for productive ways to travel abroad after high school. As an AFS Returnee, you are eligible to save hundreds on your tuition.

Volunteer with AFS
AFS is a volunteer-driven organization and there are many ways that you can make a difference without committing a lot of time. Read about what it takes to register as an AFS volunteer.

Host an Exchange Student with AFS
Encourage people you know (or your family) to open their home to an AFS exchange student this year. This is a great way to get the total intercultural experience while at home!

AFS doesn’t stop supporting you after you return home. Looking for a community service certification, internship possibilities or networking opportunities? We look forward to a lifelong connection with you and want to know what we can do for you. Send us your thoughts and suggestions.

To all AFS Returnees, we thank you for participating in an AFS program and welcome you to the AFS Returnee Community: a global family of responsible citizens all speaking the universal language of peace.
