Community Service Programs: Spring 2011
Gain valuable work experience, learn a new language, and immerse yourself in a new culture. Community Service projects such as rainforest conservation, early childhood education, or community outreach are assigned based on your interests and skills.

Summer Programs:
3-7 week programs for recent graduates, university students, and adults. Many program focuses available including Language Study, Community Service, Archaeology, University Study and more.

University and Teacher Assistant Programs:
Enroll in a Latin American university for a year or spend a semester working as a Teacher’s Assistant in Thailand.

High School Programs open to graduates: Spring 2011
Spend your Gap-Year abroad. Live with a host family while attending high school. Year and semester length programs available.

Year University Study: The University Study Program enables you to study at a Latin American university. Improve your Spanish while continuing your academic coursework. You can choose whether to audit the classes or to enroll as a full-time student and receive a transcript.

Whether or not you have already been accepted to college, an AFS Gap-Year is more than just a break after high school; it’s a stepping stone and a chance to open up new horizons that will make your college years more rewarding.

Semester High School: If you want get to know another culture and language, but you’re concerned that going on an AFS program in high school will hurt your academics or extracurricular activities, or if your high school simply won’t allow it, then a semester-long AFS Gap-Year program is a great solution.
