Top Global Learning Schools

$1,000 merit-scholarships for students from Top Global Learning Schools.

You tell us what it means to be a global citizen; we'll make you one.

Each year, AFS honors select schools for their commitment to international education with the Top Global Learning Schools award. In recognition of the global-minded thinking of these schools' students, we are pleased to invite students from any current or former Top Global Learning School to participate in a national, competitive scholarship contest centered on the theme of global citizenship.

Submission Guidelines

To be considered for the Top Global Learning Schools scholarship, you must complete an AFS application and submit a short essay about global citizenship. Entries must include the following:
  • A photograph, illustration, or video that depicts "global citizenship." The artwork can be original or published. If not original, please include the source where the artwork was found.
  • A short essay (no more than 250 words) explaining what global citizenship means to you and why your submitted image or video best represents this concept.
