The scholarship application process for the 2015 Japan scholarships is closed. Results will be announced in late October. Scholarship winners will depart on program in March 2015.
Information about the availability of these scholarships for the spring 2016 year program to Japan will be available in the summer of 2015.
This full, merit-based scholarship is designed to promote intercultural understanding and peace, and was created in memory of Yoshi Hattori, an AFS Exchange Student to the U.S. from Japan who was tragically killed in 1992. One scholarship will be offered.
The Sakura (cherry blossom) Scholarship is a 50%, merit- and need-based scholarship. This scholarship will cover half of the AFS-USA program fee for the high school year program to Japan. Two scholarships will be offered.
