AFS has now arranged for you to secure three kinds of optional travel insurance - 3rd Party Liability Insurance, Baggage Insurance, and Trip Cancellation coverage - directly from the Insurance Company. These benefits are not part of the AFS participant medical or supplement travel benefit program, but participants may sign up at any time up until departure.
Please note that you CANNOT buy this insurance once your AFS program has begun.
Third Party Liability Insurance
Option 1
- Rate per person and travel day: USD 10 cents
- Coverage for liability of participants while on the AFS program: EUR 500,000
Option 2
- Rate per person and travel day: USD 13 cents
- Coverage for liability of participants while on the AFS program: EUR 1,000,000
Both options include a deductible of EUR 150 per occurrence.
Baggage Insurance
- Rate per person and travel day: USD 15 cents
- Coverage for loss and theft of baggage and personal effects during the entire trip: EUR 1,500
- Deductible per occurrence: EUR 100
Trip Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance
- Rate per person: Up to 5% of Trip Cost
- Coverage for cancellation or curtailment of the trip: EUR 20.000
- Deductible per occurrence: EUR 25; in case of illness: 20%, at least EUR 25 and max. EUR 500
