Czech Republic Semester High School Program – Fall Departure

Spend a semester in the Czech Republic attending high school and living with a host family!

High school in the Czech Republic will be a challenging yet rewarding experience. AFS students are placed in either public or private high schools called gymnasiums. These schools are intended to prepare students for further academic education. AFSers are placed in the junior class, the second-to-last year of high school. Czech students, your future schoolmates, are very friendly and ready to help.

Your local AFS chapter will organize activities throughout the semester, which may include parties or excursions to other cities or regions in the Czech Republic. Also, over the course of your program, AFS staff and volunteers will meet with you at orientations to evaluate your experience and help with your cultural adjustment.

Your local AFS chapter will organize activities throughout the year, which may include parties or excursions to other cities or regions in the Czech Republic. About the Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, you will find plenty of things to do, like hiking, skiing, bicycling, visiting historic sites, attending the theater, and participating in cultural events. Prague, the capitol city, is world-renowned for its support of contemporary artists and the bohemian lifestyle. Outside of Prague is a wonderful countryside full of farms, forests, ponds, fairy-tale villages, and rustic hills sheltering castles.
