Morning Classes

During your first few days in the USA, you will be tested for English fluency on and assigned to classes that match your English language abilities. Classes have weekly themes that relate directly to the local excursions you will be joining. If you have a higher level of English skill (or, you’re even fluent), you will join classes that focus specifically on the issues and topics rather than language instruction. Teachers are certified and class size is kept to a level that makes conversation and learning comfortable for everyone.

Afternoons & Evenings

During the afternoons, you'll have a variety of activities to enjoy. In some cases, these are on site (e.g. sports, art, music, & drama); and in other cases, there are excursions (such as - Washington DC Monuments: White House, Capitol Building, Georgetown; Baltimore: Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Orioles Stadium, Ft. McHenry).

Examples of evening activities are Talent Shows, Culture Nights, & Karaoke. On weekends, longer day trips are planned to places that are farther away – and include a beach and an amusement park.

"You Pick" Wednesdays

Sometimes it’s fun to not have anything scheduled - a time to relax or spend time with your new friends. On Wednesday afternoons, you'll choose from a selection of outings in small supervised groups, or, if you just need some time to relax, you can choose to stay at the dorm.

New York City Overnight Trip

The highlight of the program is a 2-day trip to New York City.  You'll have the opportunity to see Times Square, The Empire State Building, the new Twin Tower and 9-11 Memorial, the Statue of Liberty and much more. You'll tour NY in a small group with a staff member. You'll travel to New York City on a bus in the morning of the first day, and stay overnight, returning in the late afternoon on the second day..

Students choose their daily excursion group, and pay for the admissions fees and activities of their specific group..  Some groups choose shopping and walking to monuments - these groups do not have admission ffees.  Some special optional activities like attending the theater are available for an additional cost.

Days in the summer are quite hot and humid, indoor spaces are usually air conditioned. Make sure to bring a sweater!
