Passport and Visa Information
In order to participate in this program, you must have a U.S. passport that is valid for six months longer than your intended stay.
IMPORTANT: Do not begin the visa process until you are notified by AFS.
Below is a general overview of your expected student visa or residence permit application process. Step-by-step instructions on how to apply for your student visa will be posted below as soon as they are updated for your specific departure cycle. As instructions are posted for your program and cycle, you will receive an email notification.

Visa Overview
If you stay under six months, you will not need an entry visa to enter and reside in Mexico unless your host school requires it.
You will, however, be required to provide a notarized parental consent form with apostilles so that AFS-MEX can make arrangements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs In Mexico.
