Below is a general overview of your expected student visa or residence permit application process. Step-by-step instructions on how to apply for your student visa will be posted below as soon as they are updated for your specific departure cycle. As instructions are posted for your program and cycle, you will receive an email notification.

The visa application process for Egypt is relatively easy and inexpensive. The process involves sending a completed application and your passport to AFS approximately one month prior to your departure. AFS will apply for the visa on your behalf and return your passport with the visa in it to you at the time of your departure. It is important not to plan any travel outside of the U.S. during this period.
The visa application fee is currently $15 USD and is payable by money order only.
